About Us
"One of the greatest parts about being an aircraft designer is watching the greatest pilots in the world fly them. Each pilot's style brings a smile to my face." This is what keeps Tomas designing airplanes. No design is ever perfect, or "done". It can always get better.
For the last decade or so, every flat foamy you see has been made of EPP or Expanded Polypropylene, which compliments the pilot who wants to try new maneuvers and push their limits while the stakes of crashing are low. The only problem is, you sacrifice rigidity for durability, weight for low stress. While these aircraft are (and should be) staples in every aerobatic pilot's hangar, this is not our area of expertise. We focus solely on creating the best flying foam aircraft on the market. They should fly well, not crash well.
Depron foam went extinct around 10 years ago due to the only US Distributor closing up shop, which left us in the foamy industry without good quality foam. However, it is back and better than ever before. Partnering closely with www.RCDepron.com (the new US distributor of Depron), TAS Aero Design seeks to bring back high quality, high performance, light weight aircraft back to the market, but with a twist...
A lot has changed over the last decade. Motors make more power, servos have become faster, telemetry more intricate, all while not breaking the bank. How about flying styles? Drastically different. The modern 3D/4D pilot needs an aircraft that can handle the aero dynamic loads and take the abuse with todays talent! TAS Aero Design offers never before seen hardware kits which aim to revolutionize how foam aircraft are built.
What sets us apart? We are a friends and family business. As stated above, watching others fly our designs has been Tomas's favorite part about this business. It's a small world in aviation, and everyone we meet is family. We wouldn't be here without the help and encouragement of our greatest friends in the industry. All our aircraft and G10 parts are proudly manufactured in the USA. We look forward to hearing from you and your experience with your next TAS Aero Design kit!
